The Johnson Institute for Responsible Leadership promotes and celebrates outstanding research on issues of ethics, accountability, and public leadership. We accomplish this portion of our mission in the following ways:

  • The Johnson Award for the Best Paper in Ethics, Accountability and Leadership
    In 2004 the Johnson Institute created the Johnson Award for the Best Paper in Ethics, Accountability, and Leadership. Following call for papers in August of 2004, sixty papers were submitted for consideration.

    A total of six (6) cash prizes were awarded --- two (2) Established Scholar prizes to university faculty, scholars and researchers and four (4) Emerging Scholar prizes to Masters and advanced PhD students.

  • Commissioned Papers
    From time to time the Johnson Institute will commission papers from recognized experts on specific topics of interest.

  • Working Paper Series
    From time to time the Johnson Institute will issue a call for working papers, to encourage scholars who have developed promising working papers that have not yet been published in journals or books. Cash awards will be offered to help the scholars refine and develop their research ideas into works of publishable quality.
