Leadership Portfolio

We have designed a “Leadership Portfolio” experience that highly motivated students can complete as an adjunct to their masters degree curriculum. The Leadership Portfolio Program (LPP) requires students to take selected courses in leadership, complete a community leadership experience, participate in a variety of special leadership seminars and workshops, participate in a leadership book study, and maintain a reflective journal on their leadership style and experiences. The LPP is in place for the 2009-2010 academic year.

The Mission

The Leadership Portfolio program provides students with classroom and extracurricular opportunities to enhance their leadership skills and credentials. We believe that an effective leader integrates these values into their life in order to build a better world.

Values

  • Self Knowledge
  • Global Orientation
  • Integrity
  • Stewardship
  • Accountability

Activities

The LPP is comprised of six core activities:

  • 1. Compilation of relevant coursework on leadership and accountability.
  • 2. Attendance at approved lectures, workshops, and seminars.
  • 3. Experience through service in a leadership position.
  • 4. Completion of reflective essays or journal entries about experiences.
  • 5. Engage in mentoring relationship with faculty member or community leader.
  • 6. Participate in a bi-monthly leadership study with publications that reflect LPP values.
