Kathleen Buechel, Senior Lecturer and Director of GSPIA’s Philanthropy Forum, will be one of seven women honored for her work in the Pittsburgh community by the YWCA during the 28th annual “A Tribute to Women Leadership Awards Luncheon" on May 19. The YWCA recognizes and honors women from the Greater Pittsburgh area who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in the workplace and in the community, and for their contributions to the goals of the YWCA – the empowerment of women and girls and the elimination of racism.
Buechel is former President of the Aloca Foundation and an active leader in many philanthropic initiatives. She is former chair of the Conference Board’s Contributions Council, former president of Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania and a board member and membership chair of Independent Sector. She is also the founder and principal of Community Investment Advisors, a practice increasing the impact of donors through private foundations, and has extensively lectured and written about philanthropic initiatives in the Pittsburgh region.
